Selecting the Right Fish for your Aquarium
Fish make for wonderful pets, as long as you care for them well. Aquariums form a beautiful section of a house. But there are those who believe that aquariums are hard to maintain. Should you manage that task, you shall find them to be great pets to have around. This means you need to know which fish is easier to care for. It is important to also go for those that live well with others. Here is a guide to various tropical fish, and their proper feeding needs.
Danios are small, active and colorful fish. These are commonly presented in red, yellow and green. They are lively but hardly aggressive and live well with other species. You need to place them in a large aquarium with gravel and plants at the bottom, with pH levels close to that of fresh water.
Black Molly has no preference for the water conditions. They are thus easier to care for. They are commonly seen as platinum colored, dusty gold or black. They eat mostly flake and pellet foods, bloodworms, and brine shrimp. They live well with other similar sized fish.
Platies are even more colorful, mostly in blue, purple, red-orange, and yellow. They can also be bred for more color options. They are calmer and thus do well with similarly behaved fish. The male species are normally smaller than the female ones. They do well in warmer water and eat flake food, freeze-dried food, and algae.
You will find Betta fish in shapes like half-moon, double-tail and crown tail. They prefer warmer water that it changed frequently.
Neon Tetra have silver or white abdomens with bright blue backs. They also live well with other species.
Guppies are the most playful of them all, and love to breed. If you keep some, it is only a matter of time before you have a full family. The female species is normally twice as big as the meals in size. The males are however the brighter colored ones.
Rainbow fish have several colors on. They shall then grow more colorful when they settle in their new aquarium. They are passive, and shall live well among similarly disposed species.
Glofish are similar to Danios but also come with a neon shine. They are also less active fish.
These are some of the fish that shall give you a great looking aquarium, with minimal maintenance work.
